Here's my layout for the challenge....This is an adorable picture of my Grandmother and her sister.

I made my own mist and sprayed coffee filters to make this flower. Here's the tutorial.

A little dimension and stickles.

I took a little hiatus from blogging, because the summer has been so busy!! And since here in Wisconsin we only get 2 months of summer we have to enjoy it while it last *hehehehe*!!! A couple of fun things have happened while I've been gone....

* I am now apart of the ScrapFIT Design Team (so stay tuned for a little sneak peek to come!!)

*And the other week my daughter climbed out of her crib!! My hubby and I were talking in the living room, when he looks at me at asks, what is that noise? I then look towards the stairs because now I'm hearing this weird noise. All of sudden down come my daughter!! She had climbed out of her crib....opened the door.....and came down the stairs (which she has never done before!!) And let me mention we had the baby monitor on and we never heard a thing...not a thud...nothing!! Never a dull moment around here!

So now I'm back and ready to scrap!! I've got lots of things to share but you have to wait till August 1st for me to reveal it all!!

And make sure on August 1st to stop by ScrapFIT because not only will the new Workout be posted but we are celebrating it's 1 year anniversary!! Lot's of fun things are going on!!

It's Hot and Humid Here!

Gotta love Wisconsin weather!!! (yuck!) I am thankful to have central air though. I finally got a chance to do a little scrapping this afternoon and I made a couple of thank you cards. Here's one I made using the SU Sweet Pea paper pack. Actually this entire card is Stampin Up! the ribbon, the sentiment and the buttons. I used the new bitty punches and the new clear buttons that match. I also used the new Unscripted Sketches sketch to put it all together.

And I entered it in Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog: 1 Ribbon, 2 Patterned Papers, 3 embellishments.

I used the Life Preservers Scrapbook Kit for this LO, which contained lots of Jillibean Soup Egg Drop Collection goodies!(Sorry the color is way off in the picture, it's a overcast here today).

Working on the Wedding Album

I'm getting closer to FINALLY finishing my wedding album!! Our 3 year anniversary is in September so my goal is to have it finished by then!! Here 2 LO's done...

LPS March kit, was perfect for some wedding pictures!

Prima flowers.

I added Glimmer Mist: Creme de Chocolat, Stickles: Walnut Stain and some diamond dust to the "Bliss" chipboard.

Wordbooks

This was my first attempt at making a wordbook. I've been wanting to make one for a while now and I figured with my brother getting married this summer. That this would make a nice gift. I didn't like the spacing of the letters on this one, so I decorated it for myself and made them a new one.

Here's the book I made for my brother, their wedding colors are black and pink. I re-spaced the letters and added the heart so I had another page to play with.

Two tag holders to add pictures, made with Tags, Bags and More cartridge.

The left heart was cut with the Storybook cartridge, it flips down to reveal a place to put a picture or journal. The right page was also cut with Storybook and it opens up for another spot to add pictures or journal.

My brother is a Firefighter, so I cut these out with the Paperdoll cartridges.

ScrapFIT Workout #17

ScrapFIT has their new workout posted and it's a good one!!! You have to make an altered egg using any Jillibean Soup products. I had the hardest time finding Jillibean Soup, none of the LSS carry it:( Finally I was able to find it at an Archiver's about 40miles from here. They only had a few sheets from the Talk Soup Collection, so I scooped them all up and made this.....

The little owls on this collection are too cute.

A Wreath Make-Over

This is a picture of my "spring wreath" not very pretty, right!!! So I decided to give it a make-over.

Lucky for me the sun took a toll on the glue too because the sprigs came right out!

I re-painted the sprigs and added some stickles for bling!

And I made a bunch of handmade flowers then hot glued it all together.

Taaaa Daaaa!!! Here's my new spring wreath!!

I had the wonderful pleasure of being a Guest Fitgirl for this challenge!!! What an amazing group of gals, and if you don't believe me go check them out.....ScrapFIT! So much talent over there!!!This was the recipe for this challenge:

1. Your LO must have 4 pictures (representing the Final Four)

2. You must have multiple fonts in your title(representing all the logos/names of teams)

3.Two Pictures (because it comes down to the final two teams)

I used distressed crackle paint on my chipboard frame.
And my multiple fonts :)

Today I'd like to share a card I made for my SIL, she was just diagnosed with breast cancer and will be starting chemo next week. And since we don't live nearby were sending along a couple of gift cards to help the family out during this rough time. The inside says, "Thinking of your during this difficult time" I didn't want to show the inside because I already wrote her a note.

I used the sketch from Unscripted Sketches. I also entered it into Little Red Wagon challenge which is to use {{ribbon}}.

CARD!! (That is!!;) This is the easel card I made for the ScrapFIT Workout #13 "Show us UR Support". You are to use Pinky's bra card template to make your own creation. This card is for my hubby for Valentine's Day. I "stuffed" it with two coupons for a free back rub.

Motorcycle Bday Card

Here's a "manly" birthday card I made last night. I used Unscripted Sketches sketch this week.

The motorcycle is from Everyday Paper Dolls, last night I thought it was super cute. But now looking at this morning I'm not loving it...and of course I already glued it down. (LOL oh well!) Must have been the lack of sleep.

Anywho this card also works for the Design Dollies color challenge this week: Red, black and one neutral color.

Design Dollies Challenge ~ Trifecta!!

Over at Design Dollies they post three challenges each week. One is a color combo, an element and a sketch challenge. You can choose to do three separate projects for each challenge or you can go for the Trifecta. Which is what I did this week, I combined all 3 challenges into one layout.

Here's the color combo:
Turquoise, White and Lime Green

The Sketch:
The elements challenge: Favorite Things. You could use lines from the song in "Sound of Music". Or list at least 3 favorite things (and not craft related).
Here's my layout.....

I glimmer misted my white paper (which is hard to see...it's a rainy day here in WI not ideal for picture taking!). I also took 2 big white Prima flowers and glimmer misted them (colors: Sea glass and Meadow green) The only colors I have that are close to turquoise and lime green;)

I wrote my 3 favorite things on a journal card that I hid behind my 5x7 picture.

The journal card says, "1. Girls in black dress with silver satin sashes.

2. Bouquets of flowers all tied up with string.

3. And me in my white dress.

These are just a few of my favorite things"

ScrapFIT Workout #12

Over at ScrapFIT workout# 12 is Weight Lifting. You have to pick a LO that one of their talented FITgirls did from the past 6 months and "lift" it.

After much debate as to which LO I wanted to scraplift (because there are way too many wonderful LO's that the DT made). I finally decided on Aymee's (A Scraphappy Southernbelle) from Workout #6.

This is Aymee's LO from Workout #6.

I loved her LO, so I didn't stray too far from the original.

This LO also fit well with the challenge over at Pile it On! which is to use at least 3 ribbons.

Simple Christmas Card

ScrapFIT is having a blog hop!!! This is the card I made for their mini-challenge. I have no idea where I got this green paper but I thought it would make a nice simple card. The little red ornament is made from a scalloped punch which I embossed with some ZING! embossing powder and stapled white ribbon to finish it off. Nice and simple:) Oh and I hand wrote "Wishing you a Christmas full of sparkle and a New Year full of cheer!" on the inside (what a great sentiment).

Is everyone ready for some turkey and pumpkin pie?? Yum-yum!

Here's a LO I recently finished. It has pictures of my Grandma and me when I was only 7 months old and the other picture is of my daughter and Grandma at 6 months old. I thought it was so neat that I had pictures of both my daughter and I with Grandma at around the same age. I loved how A Scraphappy Southernbelle did the ribbon on her page the other week that I had to try it! And if you want to learn how do it too check it out here. She staples the ribbon down which gives it a neat look but my stapler wasn't cooperating so I opted to sew it down.
I also completed these challenges....

Workout #7 R U rEaDy 4 SoMe FoOtBaLl?!?

Here's my page for Workout #7 at ScrapFIT.

For this workout this is what you need to do...
*I want to see a FOOTBALL or the football shape in your LO.
*I want to see some neat journaling.
*I want it to be family related since Thanksgiving is all about spending time with your family.

I did a LO of Abigail and Daddy watching the Packer game last week. She looked so cute in her little Packer outfit. Even though I hate their colors - green & gold. Yuck!

(It was a real nail bitter of a game...Packers lost)

Sorry my pictures look really blurry. It's a mostly cloudy day here in WI so I had like 2 seconds to snap these pics before the sun went away again.

I cut the background mat from Storybook using the Dandelon cut . It's a cute cut, and at first when I cut it out I thought it looked like pom-poms...but now the more I look at it. It looks like alien eyes lol!! (Probably didn't help that I put glitter and black gems on the ends..oh well!) I still think it looks cute and it makes me laugh.

Does anyone know that commercial McDonald's has out right now. It's a cartoon character and he's tailgating at a Packer game. He sings..."We're singing Go Pack Go every Sunday". It's such a funny commercial because who brings McDonald's to a tailgating party?!?! (No one I know at least) and the tune is very catchy.
Well anywho..my question is do other states have this same commercial but with there local team of course??
Please if anyone could tell me I would love to know. (Or if it's just a crazy Packer thing!)
(I also tried to find a link for the commercial but came up empty handed.)

ScrapFIT Workout #6

ScrapFIT posted their next challenge, and boy was this a tough one for me. The challenge is:

1. Use black or white cardstock....check

2. No more then 2 black/white patterned papers....check

3. Some form of distressing....double check

4. Black and white photo.......got it

5. The word "memories" on your LO.....hide it

I used Bazzill White Diamond cardstock and a b/w photo from my wedding. It's a pic of me and the 'Tall' groomsmen from our wedding. Giving me the title Tall Memories, which is sort of hidden inside of the flower. I cut this flower out from the Storybook cartridge and liked it so much that I painted it on a piece of black cardstock with white acrylic paint...creating my second piece of patterned paper. Unscripted Sketches #26

Here is the page I made for Unscripted Sketches challenge this week. As soon as I saw this sketch I knew exactly what picture I was going to use. It's a picture of my daughter Abigail sitting in the pool for the first time. She didn't get many chances to do that, seeing as how here in Wisconsin we barely even had a summer. This was a hard page to photograph because the paper is so glittery which kept giving me a glare (have to keep that in mind for next time I buy glittery paper lol). On October 3rd Unscripted Sketches had a blog hop. Which was my very first blog hop....and it was so fun. I really enjoyed seeing all the creative stuff other people are doing. It really got my creative juices flowing.

Marcy had a chance to win a Martha Stewart Punch.....and guess what I won!?!? I was so excited and grateful to win this! It came in the mail on Saturday and right away I went to town playing with it. It's cold here in Wisconsin....good day to stay inside and make cards! Even though it looks more like winter outside today, I made two fall cards using only scrap paper I had laying around. "Another Birthday" was cut using the Wild Card cartridge. I made this card for my Father-in-law's birthday. And the other card is for my friends 2nd wedding anniversary. I cut the "Love" and corner embellishments from the Storybook cartridge and then added glitter.

I made this for my Step-mom's birthday. I made this to compliment their living room. I put it in a shadow box, but of course forgot to take pictures of the final project:) And it looks a lot prettier in person, this picture just doesn't do it justice. The writing says......

Rules for a Happy Marriage

Never be angry at the same time.
Never yell at each other unless the house is on fire.

Never bring up mistakes from the past.
Neglect the whole world rather than each other.

I received a plaque with this on it for my bridal shower years ago. And since it was just their one year anniversary the other week I thought it would be a nice gift.

Toilet Paper Album

I got this idea from the Cricut Message boards awhile ago. It took me awhile to save up enough of them to make these hehe! I made one for each of the grandparents, and gave them as gifts for Grandparents Day. I cut the tags using Plantin Schoolbook. Then just added pictures and embellishments. I whole punched the ends and added 1" binder rings then added assorted fibers to the rings. It was a lot of fun to make these and the grandparents enjoyed seeing all the funny pictures. First time working with vinyl

This was so much fun! I never worked with vinyl on my Cricut before, but it was SO easy! My hubby and I made this for our daughter's room. It was a neat project to do because he helped with it. He made the wood blocks, we painted them together and he got to use the Cricut to cut out the letters (which he loved!) He had so much fun typing the letters in and peeling the stuff off afterwards. I used my ZooBalloo cartridge for the letters. I ended up not liking how the original "B" cut so I ended up filling the image and re-cutting it. Then I added some Bazzill paper flowers with Sugarcoating brads to hold the flowers together. It really looks nice in her room!

My very first post! Woo-hoo!!

WOW! My very first post ever. The fact that I have started my own blog is amazing, because I am so low-tech. I accidentally stumbled on to this whole online scrapbooking world one day while playing around on the Cricut website. Since that day I have spent countless hours checking out others blogs. I just love seeing all the creative and beautiful things others are doing. Which has inspired me to create my own place to share. So thanks for taking the time to stop by!
